According to reports, Twitter introduced its Tor service for Russian users to overcome the Internet blockade that prevented them from accessing the platform. Prior to this launch, the regulatory body Roskomnadzor had blocked Twitter, making access increasingly challenging for Russian users. Twitter has since acknowledged these difficulties and taken steps to address them.
Although Twitter did not confirm whether the introduction of its Tor service was specifically in response to the blockade in Russia, a spokesperson stated that they are working towards ensuring accessibility to Twitter for Russian users. Additionally, the spokesperson highlighted that Twitter's list of supported browsers also encompasses Tor, which can be utilized as a panel service.
